  1. # I've updated http://cyberarmy.net/wiki/N2n with further details on n2n as well as noted using Kademlia/DHTs and/or adapting Tor for the network for whichever network layer solution we use.

  2. @wa1800z Neither can I (until n2nv2 is complete, which will provide similar mechanisms). So, that leaves us with either erecting a base to build and improve upon - or looking at something completely different ;).

  3. @wa1800z ... authentication to 'master' servers (XMPP, OpenID, whatever) which would release the key for the network.

  4. @wa1800z Alternatively, n2n v2 *does* support real keys and key indexes - the keys could be generated and distributed through a keyserver as you mentioned (it would be easy to add support for some kind of...

  5. @wa1800z Yeah. I was thinking some kind of PKI-based F-to-F system (assuming we're not to rely on central servers). There are a few filesharing apps which do this, not quite sure how to implement it with sth like n2n though. http://bit.ly/cHa0qW

  6. @wa1800z "The supernode does not hold the community encryption key and so cannot snoop or inject packets into the community." - so it's just a blind stun-like router which passes IPs within the defined community

  7. @wa1800z Ah, I hadn't looked at that until now... looks interesting but it's a shame there's no Win32/64 port at the moment... will keep it in mind though.

  8. @wa1800Z Indeed ;). I'll probably just bash on with that rather than looking at the other possibilities this week as I won't be available from Friday-Sunday anyway. I'll continue to update wiki if it's staying, too.

  9. @wa1800z Ah! I didn't notice that, I'll have a look at that when I get out of bed :P. Yeah, definitely. I'm not saying we _should_ use n2n, but so far it's the most complete solution closest to what we want - tinc would be a bit arsey for normal users.

  10. @wa1800z I'm sure that page was in Czech last night! Haven't had a look at it as I'd need to reboot the srv to use Win32... can browse the sores[sic] though. I'll setup a supernode on an internet facing box today if you fancy some real testing.

  11. @wa1800z I tested both on the local network, desktop running supernode+2 nodes, netbook running another node. They both seem to work, though there are some odd warnings with v2 (probably something to do with unfinished crypto stuff).

  12. @wa1800z Finally got wiki::openid sorted - http://cyberarmy.net/wiki/N2n

  13. @wa1800z Had a proper look at N2N today, it looks quite promising - at least something we can build upon. Supernodes are used, so it's not too different from the way filesharing P2P networks are constructed.

  15. @wa1800z @ploy K-Meleon gets a grey box too, but I'm only using that because this netbook needs something light and a lot of things don't render 100% with it.

  16. @ploy Hello ;) What?

  17. As it mentions suggestions, jeian said he'd quite like me to suggest a CA imageboard ;) >_>.

  18. @wa1800z I couldn't pick just one, but things like osnews.com are generally things that interest most people I think ;)

  19. @booto # Ah, thank fuck for that. I hate when sites abuse web2.0 and require browsers to support 'extreme' Javascript.

  20. IRC is overrated... but can I use a console-based client to post?!
